♪ High School Musical ♪

High School Musical is a Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) and it is considered as the new 'Grease'. It was released worldwide with voice dubbing and they say that it was the biggest DCOM ever. It premiered on Disney Channel and was played about a month after on normal TV.

Story:
Troy is a Popular basketball player at his school and Gabriella is a sort of *NERD* who is always on the move. They both attend a New Years Eve party for Teenagers. This party has Karaoke which picks random people to sing a song together. Troy and Gabriella both get chosen. They sing a song called "Something New". They both get really into the song realising that they could sing. When they finish the song they go outside to watch the fireworks together. They had never met before so they take photos of each other on their mobile phones. They start talking about how they sung and they were really happy but Gabriella suddenly leaves before they could say any proper goodbyes.

It is a new day at East high School and Troy gets welcomed as he comes off the school bus. People are giving him high-fives and hand shakes. In the meantime Gabriella is starting a new school and it just happens to be East High! But she does not know that Troy goes here as well. She meets the Principal and then moves onto her first class which is music and drama with Ms Darbus. Ms Darbus is a mean, srtict teacher and does not tolerate mobile phones. Gabriella enters thew classroom and walks right past Troy. When Ms Darbus settles the class and starts the lesson Troy notices her. He pulls out his Mobile Phone and calls Gabriella's contact just to be sure it's her. A loud ringing disturbs the class and evryone rushes to get their mobiles to see if it's theirs. "Ah, the cell phone ghost has returned", Ms Darbus says as she brings out a small bucket reading 'Cell Phones'. She holds it out to everyone to put their phones in and she says that they have detention. Gabriella hangs up her phone and puts it into the bucket. Pretty much everyone in the class goes to detention.


You see Troy is on the Basketball team and his Dad is the coach. Troy is pretty much the best player on the team. Due to detention Troy and one of his fellow teamates miss out on an important training session with their team 'the Wildcats'. This is not good as they have a big championship game coming up in a few weks and they need to practise. They try to get out of detention but Ms Darbus has made up her mind.


Ms. Darbus explains about the Winter Musical and how she needs so much help. So thats why she's desprate to put people in detention so she can get the help she needs. The bell rings and the class leaves. Troy waits behind to meet up with Gabriella. He shows her around the school and they notice the Sign-Up board for the Musical. They were wondering if they should sign up. Suddenly Sharpay Evans pops up out of nowhere and writes her name on the board, filling up most of the space. "Oh were you going to sign up? Me and my brother have been in all of the schools productions, but we always welcome newcomers. Toodles". She walks away.
