Over the School Holidays, cinemas were flooded by complaints of cinemas being booked out via Internet Ticket sales for "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". Hundreds of people were so exited about the latest flick, they just had to pre-order their tickets so they can be among the first in the world to see it. Some even being very disappointed by the lack of action sequences in it. But that didn't down their spirits. There were still Die-Hard Harry Potter fans dressing up as their favourite Harry Potter Character. Down here in Australia it is winter and first thing this morning, there weren't very many happy faces lining up in the blistering cold to see the earliest session for this flick as possible. But me and around 200 people that were in the cinema, were still quite satisfied about the movie.
- Ground Breaking special Effects
- Great actors
- Wonderfully composed music
- Or, just a good movie.
Keeping this 'reputation' can be hard for the film company. Especially for the new director for the series. 'David Yates' has directed a number of short films, and a feature length movie that wasn't released in Australia. His vision for the film might of made this movie look very similar to other movies, but this one, well it was just lacking something.
Harry, Ron and Hermionie, start their fifth year at Hogwarts. The Dark Lord, Voldemort has regained power after 14 years, The Ministry of Magic and the Wizarding community have shunned Harry and Dumbledore because they are the ones who claim that voldemort has returned. Cornelius Fudge, has been blinded by fear which makes him not beleive them. And also because Lucius Malfoy has been secretly and slowly brainwashing him. Fudge appoints a new Defence against the Dark arts teacher for Hogwarts, Dolores Jane Umbridge, who begins to slowly and steadily take over Hogwarts through the support of the Ministry.
Harry, Ron and Hermione hate Umbridge straight away, because she doesn't let them to talk about the return of Voldemort, and because she teaches them useless, textbook lessons which lack actual magic. Which means, "Dumbledore's Army" is made, as an underground organization with Harry as teacher to teach twenty-seven of his class mates defense against the dark arts lessons. He teaches them spells hat you would use to defend yourself against Voldemort. Harry starts having dreams or visions about what Voldemort is doing and saves Ron's dad, by seeing him being attacked in the Department of Mysteries by Nagini, Voldemort's pet snake. Harry then begins Occlumency lessons with Professor Snape to close his mind to voldemort's penetrations in the event that Lord Voldemort should become aware of the connection between Harry Potter's mind and his own. A vision of Sirius Black being tortured by Lord Voldemort in the Department of Mysteries makes Harry start a rescue attempt.
Shortly after getting rid of Umbridge, thanks to the centaur herd and the giant Grawp, Harry and his friends fly to the Ministry of Magic. Deep in the bowels of the Department of Mysteries in the fabled Hall of Prophecy, Harry and his friends discover the vision was a trap set so Harry could get a prophecy for Voldemort concerning the two of them. After a fierce battle throughout the Department of Mysteries that ends-up in the prophecy being broken and Sirius Black's death by falling through the Veil in the Death Chamber, Harry pursues Bellatrix Lestrange, who is Sirius's Murderer to the Atrium of the Ministry itself. Harry faces her there, only to come face to face with Lord Voldemort himself. Before Voldemort can kill Harry, Albus Dumbledore appears. A awesome duel erupts between the two of them that ends in a stalemate, and Voldemort tries to possess Harry. After an painful internal battle, Voldemort is ultimately forced from Harry's body and mind, prompting him to state that Harry "will lose everything" because of the small amount of love that resides within him.
Fudge arrives just seconds before Voldemort disapparates, following Bellatrix who had fled minutes before. The Ministry is forced to acknowledge its mistake, and apologise to Dumble dore and Harry. Harry then leaves for another summer with allot on his mind: his life must either include or end in murder.
But anyway this is still a great film that I think everybody should get the chance to see.
